GSES Educational Philosophy
At GSES, we believe there is no "one size fits all" lesson plan.  It is our responsibility and mission to meet each child where they are in their educational development and create a path to ensure advancement both academically and as an individual.  Thus, our curriculum is designed with flexibility to be adaptive to each child’s needs. Starting with individual assessments, teachers develop customized learning plans for each student, incorporating student strengths and parent input.

Progress is regularly assessed and learning plans are updated to make certain that every student gains the academic and social skills to successfully advance. The educational model is specifically designed to continue to challenge and inspire each child to reach for the next level of academic achievement.

GSES fosters an environment of student cooperation and connectedness (rather than competition) through cross-educational discipline.  We have found that this supportive enviroment is a key element in student success, both academically and socially.

Small classes, top notch faculty and cross-educational environment allows GSES to deliver on our promise to families: Creating Individual Paths to Success.

Early Education

GSES Early Education (ages 3  - 5) focuses on self awareness, connection, socialization and readiness.  Friendship, laughter and inspiration greet our Early Ed students each and every day in a warm and caring environment.

We have developed an early education curriculum that ranges from half day to full day programs, recognizing that our little ones embrace the school environment at different paces.  Assessment at this level is focused on verbal, motor and social skills.  Enriching co-curriculars including art, music and Spanish support the curriculum,  engaging  and inspiring young minds.

Lower School

Lower School students are engaged in rich academic and co-curricular programs.  Themes of self awareness, connection and socialization are expanded to encompass community service and student cooperative projects.  Because we encourage student collaboration, students readily embrace and support one another's talents.

Lower school curriculum incorporates advancing levels of core academics, including language arts, math, science and social studies, as well as co-curriculars which enrich and support learning.  Co-curriculars include art, Spanish, music, physical education and regular field trips for hands on learning opportunities.  Individualized learning plans allow students to fully achieve their potential in a group learning environment.

Middle School Academy

GSES Middle School Academy (grads 5 - 8) emphasizes reaching for personal best, taking responsibility and preparing for high school and beyond.  This means teaching students toward successful mastery of significant academics while also closely monitoring and nurturing a supportive environment during the middle school years.

It is our goal to not only prepare students for the rigors of high school, but also to help them develop a grounded sense of self that will benefit them throughout life.

We achieve these objectives by delivering a robust academic curriculum and engaging enrichment activities in a fully cross-educational environment, creating peer-to-peer as well as faculty-to-student learning.   Student learning often accellerates in this type of setting.
